About the Role

The Power Electronics Applications Engineer will be key in developing and optimizing power conversion systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in semiconductor applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize high-frequency power conversion systems, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters.

  • Conduct system efficiency analysis, power loss breakdowns, and thermal performance assessments to improve product reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to define and refine semiconductor applications.

  • Utilize SPICE simulations and mathematical modeling (Excel, MathCAD, etc.) to analyze power switching circuits.

  • Select components to balance power electronics applications' performance, cost, and efficiency.

  • Provide technical expertise in Diode, MOSFET, and Driver IC characteristics to optimize system performance.

  • Engage in lab testing, troubleshooting, and debugging power supply designs using oscilloscopes and power analyzers.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10+ years of experience in high-frequency power electronics and switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).

  • Deep knowledge of power semiconductor devices, including Diodes, MOSFETs, and IGBTs.

  • Proficiency in AC-DC and DC-DC converter design, power loss analysis, and thermal assessments.

  • Strong background in power system modeling and simulations (SPICE, MATLAB, MathCAD, etc.).

  • Experience in component selection, cost optimization, and system-level trade-offs.

  • Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and high-voltage testing.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
